Grant Writing Coordinator (Virtual Assistant)

Role Overview
ProjectGenova is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Grant Writing Coordinator to lead funding research and proposal development efforts. This month-to-month contract role is fully focused on identifying funding opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and helping secure the financial resources needed to expand our programs and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and research relevant grants, funding opportunities, and competitions aligned with ProjectGenova’s mission
- Evaluate eligibility criteria and assess fit for each opportunity
- Maintain and regularly update a structured database of funding opportunities, deadlines, and requirements
- Monitor funding portals, foundations, and government programs for new opportunities
- Prepare, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals and applications
- Tailor proposals to align with funder priorities and requirements
- Develop compelling narratives that clearly communicate ProjectGenova’s mission, impact, and programs
- Compile and organize all required supporting documents for submissions
- Track application statuses, deadlines, and outcomes
- Maintain organized records of submitted proposals and funding results
- Assist in preparing grant reports, updates, and impact summaries as required by funders
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements and timelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear and persuasive proposals
- Proven or demonstrated experience in grant writing, research, or proposal development
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently and meet targets in a remote environment
- Familiarity with Google Workspace including Docs, Sheets, and Drive
- Experience with grant databases or funding portals is an asset
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with non-profits, NGOs, or social impact organizations
- Track record of successful grant applications or funding secured
- Strong alignment with youth education, STEM access, and community impact work
